Set of natural no. Start with 1 not with 0

Why do this to mathematics ??

Why did he specify the positive natural numbers at 16:10 when all natural numbers are positive?

One of the worst courses i have every heard. Not a good prof.

He's good but unfortunately erred with the proof where the net inverse proportional delta sum is over so Thus it can hardly be defended any-more to call non-differentiable continuous functions pathological. this can be restated ∀y : ∃x : f(x) ≥ y. Thus Let V be a finite-dimensional vector space over k….Let (ei)1 ≤ i ≤ n be a basis for V….There is an isomorphism of the polynomial algebra k[Tij]1 ≤ i,j ≤ n onto the algebra Symk(V ⊗ V*)….It extends to an isomorphism of k[GLn] to the localized algebra Symk(V ⊗ V*)D, where D = det(ei ⊗ ej*)….We write k[GL(V)] for this last algebra. By transport of structure, we obtain a linear algebraic group GL(V) isomorphic to GLn.

5:45 – Donald Trump foresight…

I was required to take this kind of course in my first year of University. I actually enjoyed it somehow.

88-100 is A??? That’s crazy

Is zero a natural number? Thought it was just a whole number????

wtf it is to easy we see much harder in Turkey

rambling…. get on with it!!!

The writing on the chalkboard and knowing i'm not paying for this class is so relaxing.

Can we dumb this down for the pseudoscientists

I'm doing my masters in information technology.

I love computer science but hate mathematics.

In this semester i have a subject "Analysis of Algorithms" and it's killing me 🙁

Any suggestions?

doesnt he mean positive intergers @16:30 not positive natural numbers, newb!

No one is going to mention that 0 is not a natural number ?

35% holy shit that is generous

Predicate calculous cs 1st yr

Thank you for spreading the love for education! Helps us who can't afford college.

He lost me at the p and q truths thingy

why is this in my recommended

At 10:09 sec – hey {0,1,2,…} are whole numbers and {1,2,3,…} are set of natural numbers!!?

I watch this video when I need to sleep

Please put lecture titles on video titles

Who knew Michael Palin was such a great professor?

the donald trump line in 2018 oml

VVVIIIIRRRTTUUUEEEEE

Can anyone Translate the lectures to Arabic please !!

I’ve been programming for about two years. Python is my martial art of choice.

I know basic math but seeing normal programming paradigms and statements expressed in plain mathematics is just beautiful. It helps me teach better too.

Watching this after the military school during winter vacation , feels good and calm to finally get some stuff in my head xD

I got my computer science degree almost 40 years ago and had to take calculus. In my almost mo years working in the computer world I only needed to use calculus in one job for 3 years, and it wasn't really my job. That was at Space Command on the GOS system. I had to help the navigation package folks convert their programs to code.

Eventually you'll make a mistake .

Idk why but there is this weird feeling where you have no idea what he is talking about and when u try to answer it is wrong and way out of his answers

What a great man is this teacher.

All the teachings he gave are in the MIT Mathematics for CS book, but the interaction, the examples and the way he explains, are a good complement to the book.

writing like that on a chalk board seems to waste alot of valuable time

Is this whole course from the concrete mathematics: a foundation to computer science book?

9:15 I didn't know that

10:27 I didn't know that

Some Trump should fire this guy and not just for using class time for political propaganda but for making basic mistakes: 41:30 Completeness of a set of axioms is misstated. It is not that the set can be used to prove that every proposition (in a certain language, of course) is either true or false (i.e. to prove Excluded Middle for that language) but that it can be used to prove every proposition (in the language) either true or false (i.e. every proposition in the language is decidable from the axioms).

this lessons theme very simple

5 mins into maths for computer science at mit and already political propaganda and the word of God.

Anyone have link to the video which wasn’t included due to copy right?

Where are the formules to make a new piece of computertechnologie

What textbook is used for this course (or reference books)?

natural nnumbers starts with 1 where as whole number starts 0 ::: correct me if i m wrong

natural number = (1,2,3,4,5,6…………)

whole number = (0,1,2,3,4,5………)

15:30 Reference to Dr Noam Elkies is so funny. "He works at the other school down the street" aka Harvard University 🙂

http://www.math.harvard.edu/~elkies/

This is Gold!

Euler's conjecture is true if a,b,c,d and e are restricted to consecutive numbers.

Pythagorean squares and triplets are additive in N+. Three spheres, each one a member of a Pythagorean triplet, (a,b,c) will exactly fill a sphere equal d. Any similar summing in the 4 dimension is some ratio of the values of the Noam Elkies solution set. I think that this might be a basis to prove that any four dimensional space is necessarily curved.

natural numbers are 1,2,3,4… . 0 is not natural number

Whole MIT class cant come up with an example of what a non-mathematical proof is?

Limp dick scared kids with no creativity.

Here's an example: Prove to me that there is no teapot out somewhere in space.

if anyone is doing this course this month date 21-04-2019 plz contact me

05:46 good job professor, bring them to the left, while studying Computer Science. Enough for me here!

10:10

I think natural numbers start from 1

And whole numbers start from 0

Is this lecture discrete mathematics ?

9:49 lol

in my country we r teached all symbols in 1st year of high school

Thank you , Mr Mathew McConaughey!

in my university this is called Introduction to Logic

Amazing professor!!

They do an awful lot of reading from paper and tiresome writing on the blackboard at MIT.

DT Trigger warning – 5:46 Remember, this was released during Obama administration…

Donald trump in 2010?

10:05 0 is not a natural number

I think we’re still living in the 70’s here with blackboards not computer screens and streaming video and virtual reality

Good stuff

These maths are overkill regarding the kind of jobs you can find nowadays. For example, to be a WordPress or Joomla developer.

I got visual cancer when I saw the 0 is included in the set of natural numbers.

i consider this as basic maths, dont know why call it mathematics for CS…

Is 0 a natural number??? Natural numbers are used for counting and ordering as far as im concerned. 0 is used for neither purposes

anyone have a link to a video explaining why MIT makes all the profs still use blackboards?

Easy!

With regard to the discussion of "truth" at the beginning of the lecture, this article might interest some of you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redundancy_theory_of_truth

This is MIT. Did anyone look at the grading scale on the board? WOW!

Sometimes I talk to myself.

The other school down the street 😂😂😂

"That other school down the street" is he referring to Harvard?

This professor looks like a lawyer from one of these hollywood movies.

why is this even recommended to me…

Most of us wasted our time and money in school because of incompetent teachers. Few are good.

A teacher having unceasingly papers in his hand seems soo trustworthy.

26:30 Perlman is not a common Russian last name.

Are these videos helpful for first year of computer science engineering? Please comment I've absolutely no idea what to study before going to college as I don't know anything about languages or coding please help.

He is not just a professor, check it out…

You only need a basic understanding og logarithms and induction 😉

Damnnnnmmmmnmnnnnnnn i just started the video and the guy Owns the class with thr proof def

this makes my iphone work

how should we study that lecture should me memorize definition and theories.how can we do that,

really good lectures. they help me revise for my discrete mathematics courses.

Love the way he teaches the subject. Clear, concise & evoking the intuitive reasoning part within me.

This guy is the founder and CEO of a billion dollar company.

Thank you for these videos!

0 is not a natural number

Nothing like procrastinating by watching a

lecturefrom 9 years ago on a course I have no idea about.Lazy f…. students :/
