Internet of Things: Roadmap to a Connected World – MIT Professional Education Digital Programs

TIM BERNERS-LEE: I think it’s important for people to
think about the Internet of Things. One of the reasons why it’s important to think about the Internet of
Things, even though it seems to be something that is away, mounting, coming but not here yet is that
when it comes we’re going to have to link everything together. DANIELA RUS: The Internet of
Things has the potential to awaken 99% of the devices and objects around us. In
the process of doing this, it will connect these devices. It will provide
them with sensing capabilities, communication capabilities, computation
capabilities and even data. The whole world order will change. SANJAY SARMA: This is an
incredible opportunity for all of us, and something we should take very seriously.
And frankly the question you’ve got to ask yourself is, “is there anything in the
world that won’t be touched by the Internet of Things?” (An animation reveals the name of this MIT Professional Education digital course, titled “Internet of Things: Roadmap to a Connected World.”) (A list of topics appears, including Agriculture, Consumer Products, Automotive, Retail, Energy, Telecommunications, Manufacturing & other subjects.) (The title of the course appears again – “Internet of Things: Roadmap to a Connected World.” Register today.)
